Many African American women have tried every hair product under the sun at least twice. There are a few that stand out above the crowd but most of the products don’t do what they say they will do. Many products involve harsh chemicals like relaxers or color or put tough physical restraints on the hair like braids which can make the hair fall out. Look for hair growth products for women that are gentle and can solve the problems that you face.

Once you hair get treated to these chemicals or braids over and over again it will eventually become weak and unhealthy, this can lead to breakage, slow growth and even hair loss. When it comes to women of color natural is better because it is more gentle on the hair and scalp. Natural growth products can take longer to work but they are good for you hair, with little or no side effects.

Here are some every day ways to improve your hair growth. Avoid dry combing your hair, this will keep your hair from knotting up and breaking. It is best to comb your hair right after conditioning for the best results. Stay away from any kind of brush at all costs. If you can look for shampoos that instill moisture into your hair, this will help condition it and keep it stronger.

When it comes to conditioners protein conditioners will give your hair strength and stop breakage. Stay away from hair oils UNLESS they are emu, jojoba or argan oils. These oils will not clog your scalp or coat your hair. Other oils will leading to weak hair, dry scalp and scalp acne. If you can avoid thermal tools, they can cook the hair causing it to become weak.

Never use a hair lotion or cream. These will coat the hair, then cook into it if you use a heating tool. They are hard to rinse and can gunk up the hair. Make sure you use a good clarifying shampoo at least once a month to wash out any product build up. You are what you eat so avoid fried foods for the best chance at maximizing your vitamin and mineral intake. You will notice a difference in your hair within a month or two.

Find naturally based products that help make your hair healthy and treat it at the same time. Avoid any kind of hot oils, but try adding a little emu oil in with your normal shampoo for added moisture. If you follow these guide lines and use natural products your should see great results within a month. Your hair will look and feel more healthy and radiant.
